Touch to share technology

With all the trends that are now starting to pop up in the web 2.0 age, the most intriguing is touch sharing technology. I'm sure by now we have seen at least one example of the tap and go technology. The fist time I remember seeing it was with mobile gas stations and the little thing that you put on your key ring that you would wave at the pump and it would let you buy gas. The technology has come a long way. You are now able to do anything from buy a cup of coffee at 7/11 to ride a train here in Chicago. Now companies are starting to distribute new content on posters using the tap and go technology.

This technology is allowing a businessman to leave the card holder full of cards at home and digitally beam all of his information from his business line to his linkedin profile straight to another persons phone just by tapping them together. No more running out of cards, or fear of losing someones card. You now have instance access to unlimited cards on demand.

A cool way that the technology was used over the summer was to show different trailers for movies simply by tapping your phone against the billboard. In some cases it even gave to sneak peaks of the first 5 minutes of a movie. This is a great way to get your movie out there without having to buy TV time especially when most people skip commercials now. I see this technology as the future of information sharing and payments.
